Asam Schloessl in Munich

Now that Shane's has moved to the Assam Schlössel, the venerable Schlössel can only be recommended! There is currently a multi-course menu to pick up on the weekend. Super good and absolutely sufficient portions! Just try it out!

Our first visit since moving from Shane's - the to-go menu for two fit perfectly in a single pannier. Next time I will bring a 2.3L Lock & Lock Tupperware to protect the soup even better during transport. It tasted like always at Shane - fabulous. Bye for now!

Food was served lukewarm. Complained, then again waited 1/4 hour. Not good at all! The food was good, but the mashed potatoes weren't homemade, too bad.

We were there for dinner on October 19, 2020. The place is very cozy. The waitresses were very attentive, friendly and quick. We had the rib eye, it was a poem. We have never been allowed to enjoy such a good rib eye in Munich. Together with the BBC sauce and the vegetables or the salad it was a round thing. The dessert a beer tiramisu was very good, fluffy and juicy. We'll definitely be back.

For me it was a great stay on Friday! I ordered a dish from the weekly menu and after a short time it was served nice and hot, as it should be. For me there was nothing to complain about, the "Thai Lemonade" house lemonade is particularly recommended! Any time!

Cozy restaurant, super friendly and fast service. Drinks and both ordered food courses came extremely quickly - on a Sunday evening! And then it was delicious too. We are thrilled and will definitely be back!

There is really something for everyone on the menu! Bavarian, vegetarian, fish lover or wine drinker - you can only go out there with a smile. A good address for both a small appetite and a great dinner. The house is beautiful and there is also a large garden and space to sit outside :)

We happened to drop by on Tuesday noon. A new host has taken over the restaurant. We ordered a small and a large roast pork. There came 2 almost identical plates. The big roast pork was hardly bigger than the small one for 10.90. When asked, the obviously unskilled waitress said they were almost the same ... The prices are as high as those of the previous tenant. So more for the wealthy. The roast pork was fresh but with a little watery sauce. Rather average taste. The dumplings were very small even with the big roast pork. The staff was very hectic and totally overwhelmed with the order mini-computers. it will probably remain a chic Mickey eatery with high prices. Pity!

Phenomenal! Definitely worth a visit! The food is excellent and the choice is very varied! There is something for everyone here! The service is very attentive and warm, the location is a dream! I will definitely come by more often and look forward to the next visit! Hope to see you very soon!

What's going on there? Reservation puzzled, waited forever for menu and food. Please organize yourselves better! The portions could be bigger, at least at the beginning!

Total hectic with the new staff! Reservation very difficult! Better not go without a reservation! The portions are very small! For the prices I get twice as much elsewhere, with the same taste.

The food is very tasty, everything was very clean and furnished to a high standard. The radiant heaters in the beer garden make it nice and cozy even on cooler days like today. Was our first time and we will definitely be back

We are here for the second time because we wanted to give the Schlössl another chance because it has reopened. Unfortunately it is exactly the same the second time: the wait staff are absolutely disorganized. We first had to ask for a card, then no one came and we had to draw our attention again to place the order. The dishes are also very small, but the higher the price. The cake isn't really tasty either. Unfortunately, price / performance ratio doesn't fit at all. Unfortunately, we can't recommend it - we won't be back.

I was very sad when Shane left my neighborhood a few months ago to take over the Asam Schlössl. After a few months without the - in my humble opinion - restaurant with the best price-performance ratio in Munich, today I finally made it to his new place to stay to check whether the kitchen and service continue to be established under Augustiner patronage Star restaurants can keep up. I say yes! Most of his team seems to have moved, I was able to make out at least a few friends' faces. The service is still first class! Unfortunately, due to a limited stomach size, I have only been able to try three dishes so far, but I can vouch for the excellent quality of stew, pikeperch and ribeye steak. From my side there is nothing to complain about ... well, almost nothing. Unfortunately, there is no longer the homemade ginger beer - and therefore no legendary Tokyo Mule :-). Still a smooth 5 stars and a crystal clear recommendation! Despite a somewhat longer journey, you will still meet me regularly at the best landlord in town!

Reservation leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, it is only possible to make reservations by telephone in the new, admittedly beautiful Asam-Schlössl. It took me 3 days to speak to the reservation team (personal reservation on site is not possible, e-mails are not answered and you obviously only answer the phone if you feel like it ...) Of course, all the tables are then already already reserved and we kindly ask you to make the evening reservation with aperitifs for 2 people in the afternoon ... - a shame ... The two stars are only given for the beautiful interior.

Very mixed experience. Once you get a really great meal and at some other time the food is old and the bread is already hard.

This is a very historic building in a quiet south Munich suburb right near the zoo. There is very little parking but the food is worth the effort. We sat in the informal dining room and enjoyed the decorations for Oktoberfest. Great food, even better service, average prices.
